Help us to create, update and improve Wikipedia entires related to Tudor music. Potential topics might include composers, manuscripts, copyists, terminology...
No Wiki editing experience is necessary (though experienced editors are very welcome!) as tutorials will be provided for Wikipedia newcomers by the Bodleian Library's Wikimedian-in-Residence, Martin Poulter. If you can't get to Oxford, virtual participation is welcome too.
Nor do you need to be an expert in Tudor music to take part. Wikipedia articles summarise current knowledge - they shouldn't contain new research or original ideas - so if you're happy to spend a couple of hours reading up on a topic and summarising it for a lay audience then you can take part. Even a short and basic article like this one on Robert Fayrfax has had nearly 1000 views in the last 3 months!
If you'd like to reserve a space at the Oxford session or if you'd like to join us remotely, please email katherine.butler@music.ox.ac.uk to register your interest. If there's a particular article you want to work on let us know. We've posted some ideas on our edit-a-thon page, but other suggestions are most welcome.
