Most surviving Tudor music comes from partbooks.Unfortunately, in many cases, a set of partbooks has lost one or more of its constituent books. This workshop led by Magnus Williamson is about how we can reconstruct the missing part through deduction, logic, and musical intuition.
Hosted by the North East Early Music Forum, partcipants can come and see how reconstruction work and then have a go themselves at resonstructing parts following the conventions fo Tudor part-writing, The day will end by playing and singing through our work, so all singers and indoor instruments will be welcome (Pitch 440).
